About the DCE (Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship)
The DCE (the Delft Centre for Entrepreneurship) of the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) stimulates students and researchers of the TU Delft to become entrepreneurs or to engage in entrepreneurial activities. This means that we make students known with courses about entrepreneurship, such as finance, product development and marketing, and we support researchers in transferring their knowledge to the market. By bringing people together, the DCE contributes to the innovative capacity of the Dutch economy and helps the economy to gain a competitive advantage. In 2008, the DCE also started a program focusing on Sustainable and Social Entrepreneurship' which now reaches about 200 students at the TU Delft a year.
EDUCATION (on Sustainable/Social Entrepreneurship)
The DCE offers several education programs aimed at introducing students to sustainable entrepreneurship. An example is the minor 'International Entrepreneurship & Development', a 6 months full-time education program for Bachelor students from all TU Delft faculties. During one semester, subjects as Social Entrepreneurship, History of Technology, Collaborative Business Design, Technology & Global Development, Business Finance & Marketing, and Communication & Cultural Diversity are taught. The students learn about sustainable development, social issues, and entrepreneurship, as well as the link between the three of them. The theory as given in these lectures is applied to real-life projects. The students working on these projects will use this website to document papers, interviews, pictures etc. of their projects and to exchange this information with all the different stakeholders.
